How to Upload Your CV for AI Processing

Getting started with preparAItor is simple. The first step is uploading your CV, which our AI will analyze to create personalized job applications. This guide will walk you through the process.

Before You Begin

Make sure you have:

• Your most recent CV saved as a PDF document
• A file size under 10 MB and, for PDF documents, no more than 10 pages
• All personal information updated in your CV
• At least 15 credits available in your unified credit pool (each CV upload deducts 15 credits for AI analysis; editing an already-parsed CV is free)
• Room in your CV storage: Free 1 CV, Starter 1 CV, Pro 3 CVs, Premium 10 CVs

Step 1: Access the Upload Page

After logging into your preparAItor account:

1. Open the "Generator" item in the main navigation (or go directly to /app/generator)
2. The Generator opens on Step 1, which is the CV upload step
3. You'll see the upload interface

Step 2: Select Your File

The upload control is a single drag-and-drop area labeled "Drop your CV here or click to browse". You can either:

Option A: Drag and Drop

Simply drag your CV file from your computer and drop it into the designated area.

Option B: Click to Browse

1. Click anywhere inside the drop area
2. Navigate to where your CV is saved
3. Select your CV file
4. Click "Open"

Supported Formats

• PDF documents (.pdf) - required, with a 10 MB size limit and a 10-page limit

Word documents (.doc / .docx) and plain-text files (.txt) are not supported. Export to PDF first.

Step 3: Verify Upload

Once parsing finishes, the newly uploaded CV is automatically selected for the Generator and appears as a card showing the extracted fields — there is no separate file preview.

Step 4: Review and Save

1. Check that all information was correctly extracted
2. Make any necessary corrections in the CV editor
3. Click "Save" to keep editing, or "Save and Close" to return to the Generator

Troubleshooting

Upload Failed?

• Check file size (must be under 10 MB)
• For PDF documents, confirm the document has 10 pages or fewer
• Ensure the file is a PDF document (Word files and plain-text files are not accepted)
• Make sure you still have at least 15 credits in your unified credit pool, and an open slot in your CV storage for your tier

Information Not Extracted Correctly?

• You can manually edit any field
• Ensure your CV has clear formatting
• Avoid complex layouts or excessive graphics

Privacy and Security

Your CV data is:

• Encrypted in transit (TLS) and at rest
• Never sold to third parties, and only shared with the processors required to run the service
• Deletable at any time from your account
• Compliant with Swiss data protection laws
