CV Maker - Build, Improve, Tailor, and Export Your CV
CV Maker - Build, Improve, Tailor, and Export Your CV
CV Maker is the full CV workspace built on top of preparAItor's CV parsing pipeline.
CV parsing still exists and remains important: it turns an uploaded PDF CV into structured profile data. CV Maker then uses that structured data so you can build, style, improve, tailor, translate, and export a polished CV.
CV Parsing vs. CV Maker
These are related, but they are not the same feature:
- CV parsing: Upload a PDF CV. The AI extracts contact details, summary, experience, education, skills, languages, and projects into structured fields. A new upload costs 15 credits.
- CV editor: Review and correct the parsed structured data. Editing an existing parsed CV is free.
- CV Maker: Use the structured data to create a designed CV with templates, fonts, colours, AI actions, and PDF export.
Think of parsing as the pipeline step and CV Maker as the user-facing builder.
What You Can Do in CV Maker
Use CV Maker when you want a clean CV that is ready to attach to an application:
- Start from your parsed CV profile.
- Choose a CV template.
- Adjust fonts and colours.
- Review the live preview.
- Use AI actions where helpful.
- Export the finished CV as PDF.
The CV Maker export is separate from the generated application package. It helps you prepare the CV itself, while the Generator creates documents such as the motivational letter, application email, interview Q&A, job summary, and job posting archive.
AI Actions in CV Maker
CV Maker includes focused AI actions. They are charged per action:
- Health Check: 15 credits
- AI Improve: 3 credits
- Tailor to a job: 45 credits
- Translate: 45 credits
PDF export itself does not use credits. Credits are used when the AI reads, improves, tailors, or translates content.
Plan Differences
CV Maker is useful on every plan, but design depth increases by tier:
- Free: Basic CV Maker access with watermarked output.
- Starter: Watermark-free PDF CV export.
- Pro: All CV templates, all CV fonts, and custom CV colours.
- Premium: Everything in Pro plus advanced typography, header and footer controls, and advanced layout controls.
This is why CV Maker also matters in pricing: Pro is strong for complete applications and interview practice, while Premium is the better fit for users who want more design control, larger usage limits, cloud/bulk workflows, and stronger personal branding.
When to Use CV Maker
Use CV Maker before generating applications when:
- Your uploaded CV is outdated or visually inconsistent.
- You want one clean CV that matches your application style.
- You need a translated CV for another language region.
- You want to tailor the CV itself to an important job.
- You want Premium-level control over typography, headers, footers, or layout.
What CV Maker Is Not
CV Maker is not the same as custom Word templates.
Custom Word templates are a Premium feature for generated motivational letters. They let you upload a .docx layout for the motivational letter. CV Maker templates control the CV design and export.
Recommended Workflow
- Upload your existing CV as PDF.
- Review the parsed data in the CV editor.
- Open CV Maker and choose a template.
- Use Health Check to spot weak areas.
- Improve, tailor, or translate only the sections that need AI help.
- Export your CV as PDF.
- Continue to job details and generate the full application package.
