Credits, Packs and How Billing Works

Pricing should not need a finance degree, and here it doesn't: there is no subscription, and there is no feature paywall either. Every feature is included for every account from day one. You start on the free plan, and you buy a one-time credit pack when your free runs are used up. This post walks through the details — what a credit buys, what each pack costs, what is included for everyone, how payment works, and what happens if something goes wrong.

One Way to Pay: Credit Packs

Every paid thing in preparAItor is a one-time credit pack. There is no plan to pick, no monthly charge, and no card kept on file for a renewal. You buy credits when you need them, and they sit in your balance until you spend them.

The bigger the pack, the more credits per franc — Hunt Mode is the recommended rung because it covers a normal one-to-two-month search in one go. Buying a bigger pack later is never a problem: every pack adds to the same balance.

What a Credit Buys

Every action has one fixed price, whatever you bought and whenever you bought it:

A complete application — analyse the posting, generate the package — is 110 credits. That number is why the packs are sized the way they are: the CHF 3.90 pack is one application, the CHF 12.90 pack is nine.

Failed actions are not charged. Credits are reserved when an action starts and only committed once it succeeds, so a job page that refuses to parse or an interview that fails to open costs you nothing.

The Free Plan

The free plan is not a trial with a countdown. It is a tour: a lifetime free run of every feature, no card required.

• 2 complete applications (2 job analyses + 2 document generations)
• 2 CV uploads
• 2 match checks
• 5 AI text improvements in the CV Maker
• 1 CV health re-run
• 1 CV tailoring or translation
• 1 interview practice session

That is roughly 510 credits' worth. Nothing resets and nothing expires — once a run is used, that action costs credits from your balance, and until then it costs nothing. Documents generated on the free plan are exactly the same as everyone else's: all five documents, all four languages, all five tones, and no watermark on any of them.

What Every Account Includes

This is the part that replaces the old plan comparison — there is nothing left to compare. Every account, free plan included, has the whole product permanently:

• Watermark-free CV Maker export. Nothing carries a preparAItor mark — CV exports and generated application documents alike.
• Word (.docx), text (.txt) and email-draft (.eml) downloads next to the PDFs, so you can fine-tune by hand.
• The full CV Maker design library — every template, font and colour palette, plus custom colours.
• Cloud sync of new generations to Google Drive or OneDrive.
• Download All (ZIP) for generations and tracker entries.
• Custom Word templates for the motivational letter (up to 10 per account).
• Application Tracker capacity of 300.

None of it is tied to your balance or to any purchase. Spend every last credit — or never buy any — and it all stays available; there is no plan to lapse back to.

Payment Methods

All payments go through Stripe. Packs are priced in CHF and can be paid by:

• Cards — Visa, Mastercard, American Express, and debit cards
• TWINT
• Wallets — Apple Pay and Google Pay, where your device supports them

Every purchase is a single charge. Stripe does not keep a card on file for a recurring payment, and preparAItor never sees your card details.

What Happens If a Payment Fails

Not much, because there is nothing recurring to fail. A pack purchase either completes — the credits land in your balance within a minute or two of Stripe confirming — or it doesn't, in which case no credits are added and nothing is charged. If Stripe shows a successful payment but your balance has not moved after a few minutes, email admin@preparaitor.ch with the receipt and it is put right by hand.

Refunds

Refund requests are handled case by case:

• Technical issues that prevented you from using credits you paid for
• Accidental double-charges

Credits that have already been spent are not refunded — the AI work they paid for has been done. For a request, email admin@preparaitor.ch with your account email and a short description of what happened.

EU consumers may have a 14-day statutory right of withdrawal under the Consumer Rights Directive; it lapses once you consent to immediate delivery and start using the credits. Full details are in the refund policy.

No Hidden Fees

Worth stating plainly:

• No setup or activation fees
• No subscription, so no cancellation fee — there is nothing to cancel
• No penalty for pausing — an unused balance simply waits
• VAT is included in the CHF price where applicable and shown at checkout

What you see at checkout is what you pay.

Invoices and Purchase History

Every purchase generates a receipt:

1. Open Billing in the app for your purchase history and credit usage.
2. Click View Invoice on any purchase for the Stripe-hosted receipt, or Export CSV for the whole list.

Each receipt shows the date, the pack, the amount, the payment method and VAT details where applicable — formatted for expense reporting.

Which Pack? A Decision Framework

Quick Boost (CHF 3.90) if you have one application to send this week — one full application for the price of a coffee.

Active Pack (CHF 9.90) if you are applying to a handful of jobs and want a match check and an interview session in the mix.

Hunt Mode (CHF 12.90) — the recommended one — for a normal active search: nine applications, or six with interview practice on the ones that matter.

Mega Pack (CHF 19.90) or Ultimate Pack (CHF 49.90) for a long or high-volume search — a career change, a search you already know will run for months, or an agreed RAV target of ten-plus applications a month.
