Refund & Cancellation Policy

1. Overview
preparAItor is a digital service that provides instant access to AI-powered document generation tools. Because our service delivers value immediately upon use, this policy explains when refunds are available and how cancellation works.
2. General Refund Policy
Refunds are granted at the sole discretion of CHW-Services, typically in cases of demonstrable technical failure, unauthorized charges, or billing errors. Swiss consumer law does not provide a mandatory withdrawal right for digital services.
3. EU 14-Day Right of Withdrawal (EU Residents Only)
This section applies exclusively to consumers who can demonstrate residence in the European Union. If you claim this right, you must provide proof of EU residency (e.g., billing address, government ID, or utility bill) upon request.
The EU Consumer Rights Directive (2011/83/EU) grants EU consumers a 14-day right of withdrawal for distance contracts. This right applies from the day your subscription begins.
Waiver of withdrawal right: Under Article 16(m) of the Directive, this right can be waived when you explicitly consent to immediate delivery of digital content and acknowledge that you will lose your withdrawal right by using the service. When you start your subscription and immediately use credits (e.g., generate a document, parse a CV, or use the AI features), you are deemed to have waived your withdrawal right for that billing period.
If you have not used any credits and are within the 14-day window, you may request a full refund by emailing admin@preparaitor.ch, together with proof of your EU residency.
4. Refund Eligibility
Eligible for a refund
- Unused subscriptions within the 14-day EU withdrawal period (EU customers only, proof of residency required)
- Duplicate charges or billing errors
- Technical issues preventing service use for an extended period (investigated case-by-case)
- Unauthorized charges (must be reported immediately)
Not eligible for a refund
- Used generation credits, CV analyses, or job analyses
- Generated documents that have already been produced
- Partial billing periods after cancellation
- Dissatisfaction with AI-generated content (we recommend reviewing AI output before final use, and offer preview/regeneration features)
- Change of mind after actively using the service
- One-time tier packages after any credits have been consumed
5. How to Request a Refund
To request a refund, email us at admin@preparaitor.ch with the following:
- The email address associated with your account
- The reason for your refund request
- Any relevant transaction IDs or dates
- For billing errors: supporting documentation (bank statement, invoice)
We will respond within 5 business days and process approved refunds within 14 business days. Refunds are issued to the original payment method via Stripe. Depending on your bank, it may take 5–10 additional business days for the refund to appear on your statement.
6. Cancellation (No Refund Required)
You can cancel your subscription at any time through your account settings or the Stripe customer portal. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period — you retain access and any remaining credits until that date, and you will not be charged again.
Cancellation is not the same as a refund. Cancelling stops future charges but does not refund the current or past billing periods.
7. Account Deletion
Deleting your account is a separate action that permanently removes all your data. Any active subscription is automatically cancelled when you delete your account, but paid fees for the current period are not refunded. See our Terms of Service §3.4 for details.
8. Chargebacks
Before initiating a chargeback with your bank or card issuer, please contact us at admin@preparaitor.ch. We are committed to resolving legitimate billing disputes quickly and amicably. Unjustified chargebacks may result in account suspension and additional administrative fees.
9. Price Changes
We reserve the right to change subscription prices with at least 30 days’ notice. Existing subscribers will be notified by email before any price change takes effect. You can cancel before the new price applies if you do not agree.
